WHAT?WHO?WHERE?WHEN? It is December. The end of the semester is close. Before going back home, 24 SHU MBA international students from France, Poland, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Spain, Russia, Vietnam, Thailand and Germany and their Chinese Buddies were invited to join the Buddy and Farewell Party organized by SHU MBA. On Dec 10, the exciting Party Day, there were totally 12 international incoming students and 7 Chinese Buddy had showed up at the Party which was held in the wonderful evening at the K1+3 café bar.

OUR VIP GUESTS: The Party started with an opening address from Ms. Rachel LI, Head of Student Administration Office of SHU MBA, who welcome our guests: SHU MBA Alumni and Staff, and Mr. Ding from the College of International Exchange of Shanghai University. Professor Zhuang, Advisor of International Office and one of our highly respected teacher, delivered the EDP (Executive Development Program) and GCP (Global China Program) Certificates to each of the international students.

BUDDY PARTY: Then, the “Buddy Party” began. CK and Gesine, Internship Managers of International Office of SHU MBA, encouraged our international students to share their experience during their semester in Shanghai. Everyone received a gift, a Chinese bowl with chopsticks. They also asked our local students, the “Buddies”, to have a word, telling us, how much they enjoyed staying with overseas students and the good time they spend together during this period. This time, they received Belgian chocolate to thank them for helping the international students to integrate and feel comfortable in Shanghai and the University.

 
FOREVER FAMILY: Mr. Richard Fong, Senior Executive Director of Global Local Public Relations Office, were then invited to address in the Party. “SHU MBA international exchange or certificate program students are all considered as member of the SHU MBA family, even after finishing their studies in China. Once back, they will always be welcome to contact, Alumni Department of Global Local Public Relations Office of SHU MBA”, Richard Fong.
 
 

WE ALL LOVE THE FOOD AT K1+3: Finally, all participants appreciated a lot the nice food from K1+3 Restaurant located at Nanjing Xi Road, Shanghai. The menu was very nice and so delicious. Pumpkin Soup à la crème, fish and chips with salad and as a dessert, a wonderful piece of cake for everyone. This is a restaurant owned by one of our SHU MBA Mentors, Mr. Raymond WU. He is also the ex-senior executive of Pepsi Cola and existing CEO of Diamond Island & Co. in China.

To end this party, CK and Gesine prepared a “lucky joke” for everybody. Ten people were the lucky ones and could choose one packed gift amid all.

All people really appreciated this evening, spending time together and enjoying the atmosphere. This 2011 Fall Welfare Party was a great success and will remind in everybody’s souvenir for a long time.
